Peter A. Altabef is chair of the board and chief executive officer of Unisys, leading the global company as it helps clients make continuous breakthroughs by challenging the status quo and creating new possibilities with technology solutions. Peter has held the dual roles of Chair and CEO since April 2018 and January 2015, respectively. During his tenure at Unisys, he also has held the role of president on two separate occasions—from 2015 to 2020, and again from December 2021 to May 2022.

With a storied career in technology solutions, Peter has held several senior executive leadership roles in the industry, including as the president and CEO of MICROS Systems, Inc.; as president and CEO of Perot Systems Corporation; and as president of Dell Services, the information technology services and business process solutions unit of Dell.

Beyond Unisys, Peter lends his business acumen and industry insights to boards, civic organizations, and professional associations. He is a member of the board of directors of NiSource Inc.; a member of the President’s National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee (NSTAC), where he has served as co-chair of its Cybersecurity Moonshot subcommittee; and is a trustee of the Committee for Economic Development (CED) of The Conference Board, where he serves as co-chair of the CED’s Technology and Innovation Committee.

Former business advisory roles include serving as a senior advisor to 2M Companies, Inc. and as a director of MICROS Systems, Inc., Perot Systems Corporation and Belo Corp. Peter has held positions on the board of directors of EastWest Institute, the Americas International Advisory Council of the International Business Leaders Forum, The University of Chicago Law School Council, and the advisory board of the Institute for Law and Technology of the Center for American and International Law. He is a recipient of the Federal Computer Week Eagle Award for Industry.

Residing in Dallas, Peter actively engages with organizations that contribute to the wellness, education, and the arts and culture of the city. Over the years, he has served on the board of governors of the Dallas Symphony Association, the associates' board of Children's Medical Center Dallas, the board of advisors of Dallas Children's Theater, the Technology Committee of the Highland Park Independent School Board, the advisory board of the Dallas Museum of Natural History and as co-chairman of the American Heart Association Heart Walk Dallas. Peter’s service to the community has been recognized with the Texas Appleseed Good Apple award.

Peter received a juris doctorate from The University of Chicago Law School, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Binghamton University.
